There will not be a monthly meeting in December
Monthly meetings take place on the third Monday of each month at 6 pm at the Anderson Impact Center.
SURE meets monthly to connect, share updates, discuss current issues, and identify ways to advance racial equity in Madison County. Meetings provide space for learning, collaboration, planning, and community members to get involved in SURE’s ongoing work.
SURE participates in and supports events throughout Madison County that create opportunities for learning, visibility, connection, and community engagement. These events help bring people together around racial equity, celebrate Black history and culture, support underrepresented communities, and create space for meaningful conversation and action.
Examples include:
Black History Month programs and events
Juneteenth celebrations
Martin Luther King Jr. commemorations and service events
Black Expo and community resource events
Anderson PRIDE
Community conversations on race, equity, belonging, and justice
Youth workshops and student engagement activities
Black Excellence in Anderson screenings and related programs
Educational workshops on implicit bias and racial equity
Collaborative events with local schools, nonprofits, churches, and community partners
